Team Messengers, yesterday the 62d Expeditionary Signal Battalion commemorated its 81st birthday as we continue a tradition of highly-trained technical Soldiers in support of communications requirements worldwide. CSM and I truly enjoyed the battalions birthday celebration and appreciate all the Soldiers who participated in making this a special event. Our battalion was first constituted on October 1, 1933. Since then, it has been activated and inactivated four different times in locations such as Fort Sam Houston, Japan, Fort Bragg and our present one in Fort Hood. We are proud to be part of the battalions history and lineage which includes participation in four World War II campaigns, fourteen Vietnam campaigns and two Global War on Terrorism/Overseas Contingency Operation campaigns. Lastly, CSM and I are proud of your commitment to this great unit, the US Army and this great Nation as we continue to make a new chapter in the history and traditions of the 62d Expeditionary Signal Battalion.
