Tears of JOY!!!! Rob and I just got to witness another miracle in Liams little body. His heart and lungs were doing ALL of the work. I could SEE and FEEL his heart beating thru his tiny little chest. Hes doing so well that the Drs wanted to see how he would do off of the ECMO machine. When they said they were going to clamp off and take him off I REALLY thought they meant. . . well, take him off life support because its the end. But NO! Theyre pleasantly surprised. As one of his Drs said, I am shocked of how well hes doing! Liam has always like to keep everybody on their toes. So, Liam was doing ALL of the work today for 1 hour and did very well. His lungs look better. His heart function went from very poor to moderate. To make things not sound so confusing Ill explain a bit about the ECMO machine. Theres a large tube going IN and a large tube coming OUT. The machine is circulating and controlling EVERY single aspect of his blood. The machine is acting as his heart, lungs and even kidneys. So, when they clamp off they literally put large clamps on both of those tubes to stop the circulation and control process. Such a SIMPLE tool to turn his life ON and OFF. Wow! Im SO thankful for modern medicine!!!!! There is a point in Liams recovery and time on the ECMO machine that it could cause more harm then good. Please pray for discernment and wisdom for Liams drs. They will be the ones to determine the best time to take him off and let him recover without the machine. Im thankful for Liams will to live. Hes the strongest little man I know! Im thankful for God healing his body. Theres a LONG way to go but WOW! Im just. . . I feel so. . . Umm?. . . Rob and I are just. . . . As you can tell there are NO WORDS right now. Just full of joy, thankfulness, fear, hope, questions, peace and amazement in the POWER OF PRAYER. GOD IS hearing our cries and healing Liams body and giving us peace.
