Technician friends of facebook.... need opinions. Im working on a 95 altima and the symptoms are, starts up, dies at a random time, then wont start until a random amount of time. It isnt heat dependent as it mostly doesnt have time to get warm before it dies. Had low fuel pressure so swapped the pump and filter. Seems to run better while it does run but still dies and wont start again. It uses a distributor with an optical cps built in it, the reluctor ring on the cps is clean but the oring on the dizzy is broken and there is some grime in there. When it does die the tach doesnt slowly go down woth the rpm of the engine, it drops to zero before the engine stops turning as if it looses signal. This is leading me to believe that its the dizzy/cps causing the problem. Just want to get a second opinion before I say its a $500+ part.
