Technology at a snail’s pace Caught on camera, the genesis of progress and development of Namibia symbolised by modern mining technology, the Extec mobile screen is on an arduous journey in the most desolate part of the Namibian skeleton coast to a prospecting destination near the Kunene Angolan/Namibian border. The Extec, with an assistant and operator, are crawling over obstacles and challenges on its way to its final prospecting destination at a snail’s pace of 1,5 kilometres per hour. The Extec screen is travelling a distance of 250 kilometres from Mowe Bay to the Kunene River mouth at a speed of about 15 kilometres per day. It is expected at its final destination only on 24 November, if all goes well.
