“Tecumseh” Play set for April 26th at Horseshoe Bend NMP The play Tecumseh at Tuckabatchee, originally to be performed on March 28, 2014 during the Bicentennial commemorative events at Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, was postponed due to rain. The new date for the play will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 6pm. All tickets for the original performance date will be honored and anyone interested in attending the event is asked to contact Horseshoe Bend National Military Park for more information. Anyone holding tickets that are not able to attend are asked to contact the Park, also. The Park is able to release additional tickets for this production. Tickets can be picked up on a first come first serve basis at the Visitor Center from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Tecumseh at Tuckabatchee is an outdoor theatrical performance that explores the 1811 visit of Shawnee leader Tecumseh to Creek lands to encourage southern tribes to join the fight against the American expansion southward and westward. The production is traditionally held every October in Tallassee and presented by the Talisi Historical Preservation Society. Visitors are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and flashlights.
