Teddy Jones Yesterday at 9:42pm. Oh my, what a treat to find this review on Amazon when we returned from a few days unplugged. Thanks so much to this reader! 5.0 out of 5 stars A heros tale, August 30, 2014 By rise eight - See all my reviews This review is from: Jacksons Pond, Texas (Paperback) Spanning four generations of a strong Texas family, Jacksons Pond, Texas gives us at its big, booming heart a tale for the ages in main character Willa Jackson. I loved watching Willa grow from shy dutiful child, compliant daughter-in-law, into a force to be reckoned with, a woman who knows what she wants, who will stop at nothing to get it. Willas life is not an easy one by any means. Hers is a truly human story, filled with joy, but also overwhelming loss. Her tale is as harsh, enchanting, and complex as the beloved Texas ranch on which the story is set. I loved this story so much I had to read it twice. The first time, because I loved Half Wide, Teddy Jones s delightful and heart-filled debut novel. I read Jacksons Pond the second time for inspiration, because Willas saga is nothing short of a spectacular lesson in staying the course: falling down, picking yourself up, gathering courage, trying again. Willas journey, set against the spectacular backdrop of Jones s vivid southern landscape, sends a message of triumph to all of us who hope to be more.
