Tehreek-i-Hurriyat condemns the ‘actions’ of Targami and a particular police officer Kulgam, August 21: Tehreek-i-Hurriyat Wednesday alleged that Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader is encouraging a particular police officer in Kulgam district who leaves no stone unturned in harassing the pro- freedom people and clerics in the district. In a statement to CNS, Tehreek-i-Hurri yat spokesperson, Dr Ghulam Mohammad Ganie said that a Special Operation Group officer, Nisar Ahmed on the behest of State Secretary CPI (M), Mohammad Yousf Targami is continuously harassing the ‘Imams’ and other workers of Hurriyat Conference in Kulgam district. “This particular SOG officer enjoys the patronage of Mohammad Yousf Targami who is trying to be more loyal than a king to his ‘boss’ and threatens the clerics of Kulgam. This officer threatens these pro-freedom clerics of dire consequences in case they continue to propagate Hurriyat ideology,” the statement reads. “Our message to Targami and other police officers like him is loud and clear and that their ploy to cow down us would not succeed and we condemn their tactics,” Hurriyat said.
