Telephone Operator Virtua - Marlton, NJ Virtua is seeking a PER DIEM Telephone Operator. MUST be readily available, flexible and willing to cover any shifts and work any day of the week. This includes Mon - Frid, weekends, holidays, day, evening, and overnight shifts. Summary: Responsible for answering calls, CODEs, overhead paging, stat and emergency situations and operating telephone consoles for Virtua Health by processing in a timely and professional, courteous manner by following Virtuas Safety and Quality standards Acts as main resource for general & patient information calls Position Responsibilities: Answers calls in a timely, professional, courteous manner at a minimum of 100 calls per hour as traffic dictates, utilizing all features and functionality of consoles, PC, Email, Internet, Intranet, TDD, Beepers Responsible for 24/7 contact for on call support; Home Care, OR, PACU, Anesthesia, Cath Lab, Radiology and all other clinical & non clinical on-call staff after hours as per policy and procedure Assists patients and staff with all communication needs including contacting care givers, scheduling and facilitating conference calls, Patient Information after hours Processes Medical & Non-Medical Emergency Codes/Stats-10 primary emergency procedures as well as RRT, TDD, Relay, Language Line calls and alarm monitoring. 24/7 Customer service recovery Manually updates patient telephone numbers in MCS during downtime to ensure data integrity and best customer service. Adheres to IS Business Practices and available for 24/7 support as needed. Position Qualifications Required Experience Required: Prior call center/high call volume or telecom experience strongly preferred. Two to Five years telephone console experience or Bell training preferred. Some computer and typing skills needed. Pleasant, professional speaking voice. Sound judgment and decision-making necessary. Ability to remain calm in emergency situations reacting appropriately and in an efficient manner to provide best safety and quality outcomes. Must be flexible with regard to work schedule and able to assimilate new information quickly. Poses strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, positive and caring attitude with a commitment to excellent customer service. Team player who respects and follows IS and Virtua standards.
