Templates are a vitally important piece of the Kendo framework. The documentation does a good job of getting you going, but once you get into writing real applications, you may find yourself in a situation where you want to perform some calculations during template rendering and reference the results repeatedly. The technique I’m about to demonstrate does just that. In short, you can simply declare a variable within one block of arbitrary JavaScript code and then reference it from any other template code in the same template.
