Within the role, you will manufacture and maintain the continuous throughput of heavy gauge pipe on high specification orders for the Energy industry We are looking to cover a number of roles and duties within these roles. We are looking for individual to cover the following roles: Welding/manual MIG welding - to carry out inspection duties for weld defects - to chalkmark any defects - to enter results into TANDEM computer system - to carry out welding repairs as required - to ensure pipes are of a suitable standard for next manufacturing stage - to downgrade any pipe not repairable to an acceptable standard and to update the TANDEM system Inspection/Buffing - to carry out visual weld inspection - to identify all defects - to repair pipe weld seam using abrasive wheels - to ensure pipes are of suitable standard - to downgrade any pipe which are not repairable to an acceptable standard Machine Operator - to operate mill based machines including ID / OD Welders - to assist in machine changeovers, and machine setup - to conduct regular pipe quality checks in accordance with mill procedures - to record information in the TANDEM computer tracking system
