Temporary Vacancy for Estates Manager for CAT................ Our current estates manager is retiring and we are looking for a temporary estates manager to take over- from next week! . The interim manager will co-ordinate the running of the department which will involve keeping track of the day-to-day maintenance work that arises across CAT’s estates and co-ordinating the work of staff in the department to do this work including administration of the budget. CAT’s estates include buildings, gardens, woodlands, sanitation systems, the cliff railway, visitor centre displays and IT. We are seeking candidates with practical experience of maintenance in one or more of these areas as well as management experience. We would like the successful applicant to start the following week, to enable a handover with Tony Brown (the current postholder), and expect them to be in post for about two months, working four or five days per week (to be agreed with the successful applicant) An advert has already been sent out for the permanent Estates Manager role for which we are doing the usual full recruitment process. The interim position will be focused on overseeing the day-to-day aspects of the role and will need to take the approach of co-ordinating the input of our staff plus contributing some of their own labour and skills where relevant. We won’t expect the interim position to work on medium or long term issues such as developing the ongoing maintenance plan for the site.
