I am going to explain these ten signs as briefly as possible. Some of these signs are very difficult to understand and are very long in explanation. Allah Knows best. Please contact Sir Imran Hosein. 1. Dajjal the Flase messiah (Anti-Christ) Dajjal is an evil figure (human being) Allah created and programmed. He will come during the end times (which is now near) and he will deceive people into believing that he is basically God. His mission is to deceive the world, the Jews in particular. I explained briefly on my Dajjal page (up top), that the Jews did not accept Jesus as the messiah. The Jews were waiting for God to send a messiah who would lead the Jews and Rule over them and thus rule the whole world. Allah almighty sent Jesus (peace be upon him) as the messiah to the Jewish people but the Jewish people did not accept him. They ended up asking the roman governor pontious pilot for his crucifiction. But, the Islāmic belief is that Jesus was raised up alive by Allah and is one day going to return. But before he returns, an evil figure will emerge who will claim to be the true messiah. The Jews today are still waiting for that true Messiah since they did not accept Jesus (peace be upon him) 2,000 years ago. That so-called true messiah will be Dajjal whom Allah created to deceive them but they will not know. That evil figure Dajjal before he arrives, he had to do a few things. For example, he would have to liberate Palestine from Muslims control, (which happened in world war one) then bring the Jews back to holy land and establish a state of Israel which has already happened. Then that Israel would have to become a super power. Then Dajjal would come and declare ” I am the messiah.” The Jews now believe that their return to the holy land of Palestine is a sign of the arrival of that so-called true messiah whom they are waiting for. When Muslims controlled Palestine (the holy land), the Jews considered it as an occupied territory. Today, the Muslims consider it an occupied territory. So for the Jews, their return to the holy land and the establishment of the modern state of Israel is a major sign for them that the Messiah is coming. But like I said, that Messiah will be the false messiah and not the true messiah. The true Messiah according to us Muslims is the son of Mary (Jesus peace be upon him). Soon after the false messiah Dajjal arrives, Jesus( peace be upon him) will return and kill Dajjal. Jesus (peace be upon him) will restore justice in the world after Killing Dajjal. Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Mary (Jesus) willl shortly descend amongst you people (Muslims) as a just ruler and will break the Cross and kill the pig and abolish the Jizya (a tax taken from the non-Muslims, who are in the protection, of the Muslim government). Then there will be abundance of money and no-body will accept charitable gifts. (Sahih Bukhari) Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (pbuh) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (pbuh). He will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognize him: a man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizya. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him. (Abu Dawud) There are many hadith about Dajjal. On how long he will rule for and where he will come from and what he will look like. Gog and Magog The second sign of the ten is the release of Gog and Magog, also known as Yajuj and Majuj in the Quran in arabic. They are mentioned in Surah Kahf and in Surah Anbiyah. Gog and Magog are human beings who Allah has given great power to. They are human beings who commit acts of oppression. Their was a king named Dhul-Qarnain, he built a huge barrier made of Iron to protect the people from the oppression of Gog and Magog. He obviously could not defeat them because only Allah can destroy them. Allah has promised in the Quran that one day he will destroy that barrier which dhul qarnain built. Allah has promised that he will destroy that barrier and that Gog and Magog will spread out in all directions. They will spread out (take control of the world) and cause oppression. Sheikh Imran Hosein believes that Allah destroyed that barrier during the time of Muhammad (peace be upon him). And that over time Gog and Magog have spread out in all directions and have taken control of the world. There are many scholars who believe to the contrary. They Believe that Allah hasn’t destroyed that barrier yet and they are still locked up. Sheikh Imran Hosein has given many lectures on Gog and Magog which can be found on youtube. He has also written a whole book, called “Gog and Magog in the modern world.” It is an amazing book and he provides convincing evidence that they were released a long time ago. There is a part 12 and a part 13 on youtube which further explains Gog and Magog. 3. Dukhan (Smoke) There is a Surah in the Quran, called Surah Dukhan. Dukhan in english means smoke. Sheikh Imran Hosein has explained his point of view, that this Dukhan will appear after a huge nuclear war between the world powers. This Dukhan will appear as a result of the mushroom clouds caused by Nuclear bombs which will devastate the planet. World powers like Russia, the U.S., and countries like China might end up in a huge clash which will end up in a nuclear war. He explains that the Dukhan which is to come is connected to Gog and Magog. 4. The beast of the earth or land (most likely the holy land). Here is a video clip of one Sheikh Imran Hosein’s lectures. He explains what this sign means in his view. 5. That the sun would rise from the west. This sign has been interpreted symbolically by some and literally. Some scholars and speakers believe that the Sun will literally rise from the west. But Allah says in the Quran that “his creation does not change.” And also, the Quran says that the sun rises from the east. As a result of this, Sheikh Imran Hosein has said that this western sunrise is symbolic for a false sunrise which has come from the western civilization. The western civilization has become powerful in technology and is the most advanced. So according to Sheikh Imran this sign is a symbol for the rise of the modern west (meaning America and Europe). Sign 6, 7, and 8 are That the earth will sink on three occasions – one in the East, one in the West and one in Arabia. These sin-kings will cause earth quakes in those parts of the world. One in the east, one in the west and then one in Arabia eventually. That a fire would come out of Yemen and would drive people to their place of assembly (for judgement). My opinion is the same as sheikh imran’s. That this fire is not a literal fire which will come from Yemen but a symbolic “fire.” Today we can see that the people of Yemen are courageously protesting against their evil government. That could be the symbolic fire of which Muhammad (peace be upon him) was speaking about and Allah Knows best! I quoted a couple of hadith at the top describing the return of Jesus (peace be upon him). Here are some more. Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said “How will you be when the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you and he will judge people by the Law of the Quran and not by the law of Gospel (Fateh-ul Bari page 304 and 305 Vol 7) sahih bukhari Sunan Abu Dawud Book 37, Number 4310: Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (pbuh) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (pbuh).
