Ten days ago, I went back to Mass General, had a CT-Scan and ultrasound, and saw the cardiologist, who was very happy with the results. Looks great... excellent heart function. Over the past week, Ive been weaned off the beta-blockers, which are typically used in the first months after surgery to help with healing but have given me some problems with running. This past week I still had to mix walking with running, but that might have been due to running at noon in the heat and humidity and also because the first mile at work is all uphill. In any case, both yesterday and today I ran in the morning on a flat course and went 45 minutes without any stopping. Im not making the Kenyans nervous, but Im very happy with my progress.
