Ten out of ten of these native sparrows live in the Dakotas. None of these sparrows cause any problems for Purple Martin landlords. In the event that any of these native sparrows gets caught in a European Starling or House Sparrow trap, they need to be released immediately. Watch your traps with vigilance, trapped birds can become distressed if held too long in live traps. Make sure you check your local Codes and follow the ordinances.
