Ten years ago today (3/24/04) the most influential person in my life (my mother Linda Pierce) passed away at just 63 years old after a long fight with a chronic ailment. I find it hard to believe that it has been ten years already and that my dad will be 80 in a little more than a year. Seems like just yesterday that my mom used to push me on the local school yard swing and sing to me. I reflected on this over the past weekend as we celebrated Hunters 8th birthday with a party of his closest friends and family. Hunter was not born for another two years after my mom passed. The stories that I tell Hunter of a time long since passed and the love that my mother shared with me when I was young will last a lifetime. I am sure that many of you have a similar story, but today I tip my hat to her knowing that she is looking down on Hunter and I, guiding my hand every step of the way with the same love that she shared with me so long ago. I love you mom! R.I.P. (1940-2004).
