Ten years ago today, Matt and I walked into a rescues adoption event looking for a pup. We almost left the event, disappointed that we didnt find our dog. On our way out, a volunteer at the event asked if we had met Buddy who was in a cage near the back. In the cage was a defeated looking fellow with sad eyes. We asked if we could let him out of the cage, and when she said yes I kneeled down and opened the lock. Buddy got up, came right to me, nuzzled his head into my shoulder and let out a sigh - almost saying its about time you got here. We adopted him that day, and Matt decided on the way home that he would be called Sam. So in honor of his birthday/rescue day and since its TBT, heres a pic of Sam the day we brought him home 9/18/2004 and one of him today. Happy Rescue Day, Bubba!
