Tenacity by Kirpal Singh A word with many meanings Making us wonder why we are so Bogged down and yet responsive When the need arises, duty calls I walk the crowded streets, Head up and head down Musing on variations of word-links Ten-a-city does make tenacity Sound different and sensibly curious But ten-a city? Why only ten When millions thrive and throng Decades of knowing and living Etched indelibly in our psyche Making tenacity vital, prompt. The people they are so, so busy Tenaciously trying to make money Tenaciously trying to get status Tenaciously trying to put on a smile Tenaciously trying, trying so hard I walk my crowded streets Tenaciously trying to find answers Tenacity sapping my vitality Leaving me spent, wondering When will I not need to be tenacious.
