"Tens of thousands of people returned to the streets of Brazil’s largest city last night to protest at rising prices, poor social services and widespread corruption, in a sign that the nationwide movement is gaining strength. As many as 50,000 people marched through Sao Paulo city centre, closing off the central Avenida Paulista in what was a largely peaceful demonstration. There were some reports of vandalism, but in one case demonstrators formed a human chain to protect a government office under attack." The Times UK
