Tens of thousands of people went on strike and paralyzed dozens of cities across Italy on Thursday to protest sky-high unemployment and government plans to make it easier to fire workers. Violent clashes between police and protesters erupted in Milan and Rome, as demonstrators scaled the Colosseum and threw eggs on the Ministry of Finance building. Unemployment among young people in Italy is 42 percent, and the ongoing recession has led some to blame refugees for their economic woes. But we know thats rubbish. The real enemy is the 1% and their relentless class war against us all. Dont fall for their racist divide-and-conquer tactics. Solidarity!
