Tenterfield Business & Tourism Awards: Nomination Form fs30.formsite/TenterfieldShireCouncil/businessawards/index To celebrate the achievements of our Business & Tourism community, Tenterfield Shire Council is holding the inaugural Business & Tourism Awards, at the Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts, Thursday 21st August 2014. This night will be a gala occasion with a two course meal, plus complementary refreshments and hors doeuvres on arrival, twelve award categories, entertainment and a cash bar. All submissions must be received by 9.00 pm Thursday 31st July 2014. You may nominate a business that has shown excellence in their field, nominate your own business or nominate an apprentice/trainee. If nominating your own business or an apprentice or trainee, please ensure you have at least one high quality image to upload. You may enter more than one category, however you will need to submit separate entry forms for each category. The award categories are as follows: Apprentice or Trainee of the Year Sponsored by the Australian Business Apprenticeships Centre. $500 awarded to winner This award is open for businesses to nominate an apprentice or trainee who has shown excellent progress in training, approach to the job and performance. This award recognises the individual’s overall performance. Australian Business Apprenticeships Centre Logo Excellence in Agribusiness This award recognises businesses that demonstrate excellence in operational practices and services within the agribusiness sector. Businesses must demonstrate sound and sustainable business practices, be a leader in the field and innovative in problem solving. Excellence in Customer Service Sponsored by Tenterfield & District Business Association (TADBA) This award is open to all businesses who have delivered outstanding customer service. Businesses must demonstrate consistent, quality customer service, be friendly and courteous and show a willingness to go above and beyond expectation. TADBA Excellence in Hospitality Sponsored by Ten FM $250 radio advertising on Ten FM awarded to winner This award is open to all businesses in the hospitality industry, including cafes, restaurants, bars and caterers. Businesses must demonstrate excellence in customer service and an innovative approach to marketing and promotions, as well as business growth. Excellence in Innovation Sponsored by Kristen Lovett Accounting Services (KLAS) $250 awarded to winner This award recognises a business that has achieved measurable success and made significant contributions to their industry through innovation. Applicants should demonstrate significant innovation in business practices, methods, products and services or technology, which has given a competitive edge in the market place. Excellence in Manufacturing and/or Construction This award is open to businesses in the construction, building services or manufacturing sectors. Businesses must demonstrate excellence in operations, a strong commitment to their workforce and a sustainable, competitive and innovative approach to business methods. Excellence in Retail Sponsored by Ten FM $250 radio advertising on Ten FM awarded to winner This award is open to all shop-front and online retail sales businesses. Businesses must demonstrate excellence in customer service, business growth and innovative marketing and promotion methods. Businesses must also encourage staff training and development and show consistency in merchandising, pricing and opening hours. Excellence in Service Industries This award is open to all businesses who demonstrate excellence in services of a professional nature. Service Industries eligible for this category include technical, medical, financial, legal, health, beauty, fitness, aged care, child care, real estate and education. Nominations in this category must demonstrate excellence in services provided and innovative and efficient methods of service delivery. Excellence in Tourism This award is open to all businesses in the tourism industry, including accommodation and attraction operators, who market to visitors outside of the district and significantly contribute to the tourism experience in the region. Businesses must demonstrate high quality customer service, a unique experience offering, an innovative approach to business growth and excellence in marketing and promotions. Event of the Year Sponsored by Ten FM This award is open to all business and tourism events. Events may be one-off or recurring and must positively promote the region and community. Business events should reflect the culture and identity of the host organisation, and nominations should demonstrate the event achieved the business outcomes. Tourism events must create a substantial economic impact within the local community and demonstrate the attendance of visitors from out of town. Business of the Year Sponsored by Tenterfield & District Business Association (TADBA) $500 Awarded to winner Business of the Year will be awarded to the overall outstanding business, who will be selected by a panel of judges from the finalists. This award recognises a business that is a leader in successful, sustainable business practices, has strategic business planning and monitoring methods in place, offers quality customer service, provides staff development opportunities and offers innovative solutions.
