@Terfa, you already said the answer yourself! Looking at my post above, you will believe that the doctrine of election has been misunderstood by many and interpreted erroneously where some see it as fatalism while others see it as something that is not logically compatible with the character of a loving and just God to even punish people for the sins He imputed into them. Election is not fatalism and is not a license to Godlessness Eph. 2:11 said it all for we are Gods workmanship created in Jesus to do good works which He prepared for us before hand Looking at verse 4 of Eph. 1, you will discover that the purpose of election is Holiness. For He chose you before the foundation of the earth to be Holy and blameless. consequently, if any man tells you that he is elected and you see that he is not living a holy life then it must follow by an inescapable logic that he has not been chosen because the identification mark of those who are chosen is good works which the father have prepared for them before hand to do. Election entails divine sovereignty and human responsibility, i.e. sanctification in which a Christian become like Christ is both definitive and progressive. It begins with God and to be continued by man. There must be a deliberate step to depart from sin. It is like the collision of a weaker force W with a stronger one S with the resultant force Sw. Note: though w is dependent upon S it does not cease to exist. Though our salvation hangs on God alone, it does not remove all prospects that we cannot strive to be like Christ in our daily living. Lets not be like fools who are separating the Grace of God in salvation from sin which is like the childish quibble of the sophist. John Calvin is my mentor and father!
