Terri Seibech 11 hrs . This was served at a family style dinner at Yoders, an Amish restaurant in Arcola IL, many years ago. Sounds weird, but its good, and different! MACARONI SALAD 1 package (1#) elbow macaroni 4 carrots, medium and shredded 1 large green bell pepper, chopped 1 red onion, medium and chopped 2 c. real mayonnaise (NOT salad dressing) 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (Like Eagle Brand) 1 c. sugar 1 c. cider vinegar 1 t. salt 1/2 t. pepper Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain and rinse in cold water. Drain again. Drain well. Combine the macaroni, carrots, green pepper and onion. Set aside. Whisk the mayonnaise, milk, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper until combined. Pour over macaroni mixture and fold in to coat. Cover and refrigerate overnight before serving.
