Terrific day with my 91 year-old mother in law Betty Powell and her 92 year old best friend Betty Kruse. Theyve been hanging out since 3rd grade and graduated Hampton High School in 1939. Took them out for lunch to The Point at Phoebus - Spirits and Comfort Foods and everything was awesome til we got our bill. Entrees were served with choice of fries, sweet potato fries or slaw. Got the bill with an extra $4 added for the sweet potato fries. When asked why we were charged extra the waitress said the sweet potato fries are extra, nothing she could do. Asked her to check with management, she came back and said no - we still have to pay the extra 4 bucks. The Bettys became upset, making some excellent points about how/why some restaurants make really stupid decisions that result in people not returning. Well played for $4 management. Excellent way to ensure we not return.
