Terrific party at the new DeAnn Lubell-Lee Ames home in Rancho Mirage last night. Lee & DeAnn and I bought decorated Christmas trees at Act for MS benefit last Dec. The Ames tree came with a catered party and talk by acclaimed novelist Andrew Neiderman (decorator of the Ames tree). Catalan catered with delicious food. I attended with Kimmy Fuerst. Andrew spoke about his novel, The Devils Advocate, and the filming of it directed by Taylor Hackford (husband of actress Helen Mirren) starring Keannu Reeves, Charlize Theron & Al Pacino. Very interesting to me as a former studio exec & film producer. Andrews film deal was made with Warner Bros at the Polo Lounge, same place I had lunch on Sat with another published author! DeAnn & Lee Ames, of course, producers of PSWIFTs Broken Glass Awards for the past two years. Beautiful home, loved the photos of Lees dad, famed movie actor, Leon Ames... and DeAnns pages from original Shakespeare play! Lovely people at the party!
