Terrorism Spreading all over the world- What Can We Do? ************************************************************************ When I was in USA in 2007, I heard in the Missions Conference that there is a fast growth of Islam in America and Europe. On the other hand, we hear reports of many Muslims turning to the Lord Jesus in the Middle East and elsewhere. The well-known disciple of the Swami Vivekananda of India, was the daughter of a Baptist Pastor in USA. During his missionary tour of the West, this girl became his follower. How the Western Christians have become so nominal and weak in their faith! Why this is happening? Due to lack of proper teaching and discipling of their children by parents and church members by pastors! Recently, we read reports of some youth missing from a suburb near Mumbai here. They reportedly fled to join some terrorist group in Iraq, etc. China arrests and puts in prison some Muslim terrorists, says a news report somewhere online. The shooting down of Malaysian Jet yesterday by some terrorists brings to our mind chilling fact that terrorism is spreading fast all over the world. What can we do as believers in Christ and chosen to save the world? The only way we can keep our young ones away from the enslaving power of sin and Satan is to make them disciples of Christ. Christian parents must disciple their children. Churches should focus more on teaching the Word and making disciples than following traditions and lifeless rituals. Pastors should not just work for money or survival but to save people coming to their churches and make them true followers of Christ. Only disciplemaking at every stage in our life can bring about the change in our society. Transforming people to become Christ-like is the work of the Holy Spirit, but God uses each of us, His chosen, to teach the Word and help people experience His salvation and the power of the Holy Spirit. We can see how even hard core criminals and terrorists can become useful to bless others in the hands of loving Father and bring glory to Him. For example, Paul was one of such terrorists before he met Christ. Look at him after the Lord touched him and transformed him. God needs each one of us and doesnt want anyone to perish but to repent and come to the knowledge of salvation (Acts 17:30-31). Amen! Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority is given to Me in Heaven and in earth. Mat 28:19 Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.
