Texans are relieved and thankful to learn that Dallas nurse Nina Pham has been declared free of the Ebola virus and is making a full recovery. We continue to pray for the health and safety of those being treated for Ebola and for our health care workers on the frontlines of treating this awful disease. Ms. Phams recovery is an encouraging sign for modern medicine and the efforts that our state has put into research and development to cure infectious diseases. Our best defense against any further Ebola outbreak remains prevention, and I encourage President Obamas Administration to put steps in place that limit travel from West Africa.
