Texas cannot legally secede, But there is a clause in the 1845 Annexation agreement where Texas reserved the right to split into five states with only the blessing of the Texas legislature. The Federal govt would then have to contend with a huge Texas showing in the Senate, or beg us to secede. lol Unlike most states texas sends more to our Federal government than we get. If we were a country we would be the 13th largest economy and the 46th largest country in the world by population. You know the liberals are gunning for Texas. They say they are moving here to turn this state. We need to consider that desperate times call for desperate measures. Its time to stand up and consider invoking that clause and letting the rest of the country know that we mean business in Texas!!
