Thai traditional massage competition held in Chiang Mai (NNT) – The Department of Skills Development has organized a Thai traditional massage competition, made up of Thai Suppaya Spa and Western Spa styles, at the Human Resources Institute for Health Services Industry in San Kanphaeng District, Chiang Mai. Competitors consisted of nine therapeutic Thai massage parlors from Chiang Mai, and the judges were therapeutic Thai massage experts from the Human Resources Institute for Health Services Industry. Competitors had to pass both the theory and practical rounds. They were tested on the Ten Nerves, and the Rusee Dud Ton Stretches. They had to perform basic massages on the judges as well. The winner of the competition receives cash, a token of honor, and a certificate from the Human Resources Institute for Health Services Industry. The purpose of the competition is to improve and expand the Thai massage industry.
