Thailand update: The situation here is worsening. Shots were fired near Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok. A lone gunman in a police uniform fired into a crowd of demonstrators Sunday evening. Two dead. Many folks present seem to believe he was a crazed imposter, not an actual police officer. Sadly, this tragic event has inflammed passions and there have been several assaults. I am currently 500 kilometers from Bangkok in Chiang Mai. There have been no disturbances here. Afan is joining me in Chiang Mai tomorrow morning. Thank you for your concern. I am well and enjoying my holiday in the north. Great timing, huh? I plan on returning to Bangkok next week. Ill keep you posted.
