Thane girl selected in junior world TT c’ship Thane: Local girl Shruti Amrute has been selected to represent India at the junior world table tennis championship to be held at Shanghai from November 30 to December 7, 2014. She represented the country at the Asian championship in cadet girls held in Mumbai a couple of months ago. At the India camp in Lucknow, Amrute proved her mettle and special training under the watchful eyes of former number one paddler Kamlesh Mehta helped her improve her shots, concentration and technique. I am glad that I could consolidate my berth in the Indian team for the junior world event which has been my dream for years, said Amrute. She is ranked number one in the state and country in the junior girls category after winning several titles in close successions.
