Thank GOD for my opportunities....... Good morning, Father God . . . What a journey this has been, praying through the New Testament. On this Christmas Eve, weve come to Revelation 16:12-17:8. As were about to celebrate Your Sons birth to save His people from their sins, were reminded some have chosen to reject this marvelous GIFT. In yesterday’s passage we prayed in light of the wrath that will be poured out upon such people in the end times. The apostle John described the revelation Jesus had shown him: Five angels poured out bowls of wrath, and in todays reading two additional angels empty their bowls. Heavenly Father, we know Your heart aches for the lost—thats why You sent Your Son (John 3:16). Our hearts ache as well to know that there are hardhearted people who will reject You in the future. Yet thats the future. As for today, while people still have an opportunity to turn to You, we press on—like the apostle Paul—in advancing the Gospel. In writing to the church at Philippi, Paul put it this way: “For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things” (Philippians 3:18-19). Break my heart for the lost. May my eyes be filled with tears for those who face destruction. A dreadful day of judgment will come—bowls of disasters will be poured out. Oh, the JOY, however, when even one person is saved! I remember the day of my salvation, when I put my trust in Jesus Christ. May I live the redeemed life and be used of You to help others come to know and grow in You as well! May I yield more and more to You, be transformed more and more by You, stand firm in Your truth no matter the cost, and “make the most of every opportunity” to reach the lost for Christ!
