Thank Goodness for YouTube. I love these videos of Hemshen people, aka Islamized Armenians, still living in their native land in Turkey a 100 years after the Armenian Genocide. Their overall population is in the hundreds of thousands apparently. Can you make out what shes saying with her thick Armenian dialect? So interesting! Reconnecting these people to the rest of our community is really one of the last stages of surviving the Armenian Genocide. We rebuilt our families, communities, churches and country (for the most part), but let the Islamized part of our people stay lost. We need to prepare ourselves as a people to welcome and accept Muslim Armenians back into our community, whether they be Hemshen or hidden Armenians of Turkey and Kurdistan. And if their different religion is whats stopping us, lets remember, our people predate Christianity and Islam.
