Thank You! What a great season - my 21st involved in SRA Town - TopicsExpress

Thank You! What a great season - my 21st involved in SRA Town Soccer. Every season, there are so many people to thank who make it possible. Thanks to my friend Jim McCambridge who helps out with equipment and coordination with our travel program, and for help at the late summer inflation station from Swarthmore Institution Bob Dawes. Thanks to my erstwhile 2014 referees, who included Alex Jensen, Tim Jensen, Zach Dinardo, Max Memenger, Sophia Foglio, Kyle Woodland, Lizzie Healy, and Anthony Foglio - what wonderful, giving, community-minded young folk we have among us who will only grow and go on to do wonderful things in the communities they land. Maybe one day theyll even come back! Thanks too to my sons Ryan and Joe, who helped with apprentice equipment preparation and schlepping, as did my lovely wife Oonie. It is nice to be out lugging equipment around with my own boys and having a singular kind of late summer family togetherness. Thanks to the SRA Board, its officers and many donors, and the hard, kind, and thoughtful work of SRA Director Linda McCullough. I thank my coaching friends - Tom Granahan for baseball, and Coach Eric Wagner for helping me continue to learn so I can help you guys. This year I was so happy to meet Dr. Bob Bunnell at Neumann University and forge a new connection with his students, who are learning to be coaches. Thanks to him, and to them, for the assistance. I look forward to continuing it in the future! There is so much deep coaching knowledge in this small town - makes doing what I do so much more enjoyable. Thanks to my cronies in the Sons of Benjamin West (SOBWs): Billy Hodges, Gordon Strachan, Tim Kearney, John Mansor, Jon Feinberg, Andy Hooper, etc. - for feeding this love of soccer in this town. The Union player even and games were great, and helped many families enjoy watching some professional-level soccer here at home and down at PPL Park this fall. Last, thanks to our many coaches for stepping up and over that white line to volunteer. Their passion and commitment to the program and the game and our twin goals of learning and having fun are what its all about. Thank you for taking on the challenge of giving these young players as many touches on the ball as possible in your warm-ups - the improvement in quality was really there in the last games we played - rain be darned. SRA is not SRA without you fine folks raising your hand to help raise our kids to be happy, healthy exercisers and breathers of fresh air. It is important, worthwhile volunteering that builds bodies and towns and makes a difference. For every time you told the kids to spread out, imagine me giving you a high five and saying: THANK YOU for playing soccer with me on Saturday! Soccer Day! The Best Day of the Week! Chant of the Week (lyrics by me): Learn Have fun, have fun, have fun then learn Then have fun some Then we learn some Then we learn and have some fun TOWN SOCCER!!!! Yours in soccer learning and fun-having, Coach Terry
