Thank You so much to my cousin Jay Anne. For Patricias Valedictory Address Distinguished guests, beloved parents, faculty and staff of Divine Mercy School of Antipolo, fellow graduates, visitors, ladies and gentlemen, Good Evening. I feel deeply honored for having been given this opportunity to speak before you today on our graduation ceremony. Let me begin by saying, Thank you! for today, we receive our diploma, the fruits of our labor and hardwork. Above all, our praise and thanks giving be to our Almighty Father for showering us His blessings as we journey in our learning years. Thank You, Father God, for Your divine teachings that made us grow in mind and body and become wise. Secondly, to our very supportive and loving parents and families who always want the best for their children:Thank you so much. Today, here we are, very grateful to stand before you, as fruits of your sacrifices. Without you, we will never be what we are and where we are right now. Last but not the least, to our dear teachers, our second parents, who gave us their everything: when we were not smart enough; when we didn’t understand; when we couldnt. Thank you for always reminding us that we can, that we will win and reach the finish line. It is difficult to utter or say goodbye, but we are prompted to do so by our great desire to shape our destiny in the future. We promise to uphold your teachings and continue to bear witness to what is right and just. I’ve never imagined to be standing here before you today. I had no dream orwhatsoever. When I was small, I remember that I would only study if my mother will give me food to eat. In short, “no food, no pasalubong, no study”. And that story continued until my early grade in school. I was only motivated by the thought of eating what I want and not of wanting to learn. But as I grow older, my passion for learning has also grown until the time came that learning help me realized one thing: “Education is one of the best things one can ever have!” From that time on, I started having dreams:I started dreaming that through my education, I will be an accountant and run my own business company someday; that through my education, I will be able to support my parents on their retirement years; that through my education, I can tell my little sister that dreams are for real;that through my education, I can make things possible. Fellow graduates, let us always strive for excellence. To strive means to always give our best even on the most difficult situation. To strive means to finish our goal even if it means to sacrifice. To strive means to beat the odds. To strive means to have faith on our own selves and to the One above. Our journey has just begun. Let us not forget what made and brought us on this very day. If I will think of one reason why we are here today, there is only one word that summarizes it all: LOVE. The power of love that our parents have for us that sacrificing is nothing as long as they can send us to school so that someday, we will have a good life; the power of love that our teachers have for us to instill learning to our deepest minds that we will be freed from the cave of ignorance. Let this power be our inspiration as we continue to face the challenges in life. It will never be easy but let us not forget, Science has taught us that each of us matter; that History is not only made for famous and intellectuals, but also for ordinary people just like you and me; and that Mathematics proves us that if we are together, we are stronger. Someday, many, many years from now, those parents’ chairs will be reserved for us, where we can watch our own children marching and pledging on their graduation day. When that day comes, we shall say to ourselves: “I’ve lived my life to the fullest.” Let us always remember that everything is possible only if we will allow ourselves to make it happen. So my dear graduates, let us make our dreams come true. Let us become what we are purposed for when we were born and that is to be good to ourselves and to others. Let us make this world a better place, for you and for me, and for the next generations to come. Congratulations and God bless us all!
