Thank goodness for interns and weve got two terrific ones with us this year! Please help welcome Rebecca Gale of Bethesda, MD, (in the orange shirt) and Brittany Lyons of Lancaster, PA(in the striped dress) as summer interns to CBMM. Gale is serving as an educational intern, with Lyons interning in communications and special events. Gale is a junior at Grove City College where she is studying history. She is assisting with CBMM’s Kids Club summer camps, as well as a number of other educational programs. Lyons is an Elon University junior, majoring in strategic communications. She is working with the communications and special events departments supplementing social media content, as well as assisting with multimedia productions, photography and writing. Lyons is also helping to plan, coordinate and execute CBMM’s annual festivals, programs and special events. Administered by CBMM’s Center for Chesapeake Studies, the internship program provides a ten-week learning experience for college interns wishing to engage, observe and receive guidance by professionals with similar career interests. “Our internships provide exposure to the inner workings of a museum,” said CCS Director Robert Forloney. “The program combines hands-on experiences, workshops, projects and an overview of the field as well as concentration in the student’s area of interest.” For more information about CBMM’s internship programs, visit the “About Us” tab at cbmm.org or contact CCS Director Robert Forloney at 410-745-4959.
