Thank you Catie Costello from Newbury for another letter of support for Mount Sunapee! I am writing in support of the West Bowl expansion of Mt. Sunapee Resort. Mt. Sunapee has been our winter weekend home for the past 17 years. In fact, it is Mt. Sunapee and its original expansion in 1998 that lured our family to extend its visits to the Lake Sunapee Region beyond the traditional summer season. Prior to the Muellers lease and extensive upgrades, we were occasional winter visitors and often chose to ski at other resorts such as Wachusett and Berkshire East in Massachusetts, Sunday River in Maine, or other New Hampshire resorts within driving distance from suburban Boston. The enhanced ski experience at Mt. Sunapee prompted our family to commit to Mt. Sunapee as season pass holders. From December 1st through mid-April, we spend each weekend and school vacation in the Lake Sunapee Region. Our commitment has extended well beyond our loyalty to the ski community and has extended to an appreciation of and loyalty to many fine businesses and services in the Lake Sunapee Region. We purchase all of our ski equipment at Bob Skinners and much of our warm winter apparel at Huberts. We enjoy special family meals at Bubbas, One mile west, the New London Inn, King Hill Kitchen and the Red Baron. We purchase Friday night pizzas at Marzellis and Newbury Pizza Palace on our drive into town. Our gas tanks and grocery carts are filled each week in New London or Warner. Our Christmas trees and decorations are selected at Kathan Gardens. Many of our Christmas, birthday or house warming gifts are purchased at Artisans, Larks and Nightingales, Jensen & Yurich, and Serendipity. Our dog boards at Andrew Brook Tails and is groomed at Unleashed. We are committed to supporting local businesses that add to our enjoyment of winter in the Sunapee Region. The West Bowl expansion will significantly enhance the skiing experience at Mt. Sunapee Resort and will likely prompt other families to make a winter commitment to the Lake Sunapee Region. Expanded lift capacity, lodge facilities, and varied and uncrowded terrain will attract new and returning skiers. Loyal skiers will help to insure that the Lake Sunapee Region remains a thriving year-round community. Respectfully yours, Catie Costello
