Thank you, Christine Grim, for passing along the gratitude challenge to me, here on Facebook. I was blessed to be able to go to TEDxSalem where Jefferson Smith presented on Gratitude. An amazing talk along with Jonathan Chases talk on appreciating the different ways people see things. I got into this, so my apologies that this post is a bit long! Here are my 3 gratefuls for today... 1. I am so very thankful for my son, Graham. Parenting him has taught me not only about him and parenting, but about myself. His zest for life, his appreciation for music, his kind heart, and his ability to read me faster than I read myself astound me. I am ever so thankful for that kids resiliency and I just love who he is becoming as he grows up. 2. I am thankful for my boyfriend, David Gonzalez. He is my rock and my best friend. He grounds me, inspires me, and oh how he makes me laugh. I love that he appreciates gratitude, too, and strives to continue to grow together everyday. 3. I am grateful for my family. Elaine Avila, Winona Hopper Avila, John Avila, and Rose Avila. As a child, my parents showed me how to be grateful everyday, how to appreciate those around me, respect others, and live my best life passionately, peacefully and intelligently. My parents current adventuresome, healthy, active lifestyles along with their ever-giving hearts are incredibly inspiring. My sisters passion for writing combined with her love of history affords me a peek into our familys roots that I wouldnt have had otherwise. My aunts guidance of my business in the early days set the sails to where I am today. Her positive approach and business sense are invaluable, her confident clarity continues to inspire me daily.
