Thank you. Comox Valley SAR would like to extend gratitude to all the people and organizations that helped us with the search in Cumberland last week. A special thanks to all the community volunteers who offered their time and local knowledge. With 137 registered community volunteers plus dozens of other citizens performing their own searches and checks of their backyards, we were able to cover more area in a much quicker time. Accounting for the 94 SAR volunteers, plus the time of the community volunteers, over 2000 hours of time was accounted for in the search for Mr. Sproule. Thanks to the SAR teams from Campbell River, Nanaimo and Port Alberni for sending volunteers from your communities. CVGSAR would like to acknowledge and recognize the support of the Comox Valley Emergency Program, BC Ambulance, the RCMP including the helicopter and dog unit, the Village of Cumberland as well as the Cumberland Fire Dept. and Chief Mike Williamson. We would like to also thank all the businesses and suppliers in Cumberland and elsewhere in the Comox Valley who supplied food and other refreshments for all our volunteers. Special recognition goes out to the numerous community supporters who dropped off sandwiches and other goodies to fuel the search efforts. As one nice lady put it, I cant walk around in the woods and search but I know how to make sandwiches. Our team and your community thank you. Cumberland, you really showed your community spirit in the search for Jamie and our team is humbled at the level of support. Our thoughts are with the family at this time.
