Thank you First Great Western for completely ruining my day. Got to Paddington with Flora and Kin this morning at 0700 to do a Dog Show at Slough. Journey time is ordinarily around 20 minutes from Paddington to Slough. Checked ahead of time to see that trains would not be stopping at Slough so would have to go to Reading, change there and travel back to Slough. No big deal but it would take around an hour. However, from 0700 until 1000, we sat on a f*cking freezing concourse at Paddington Station with train after train being cancelled but no information being given when the first train out was to leave. At 1010 I admitted defeat and went home. On getting home I could see that the BBC were reporting that there would be no trains leaving Paddington until after 1130 but First Great Western and the people working at Paddington Station seemed completely incapable of passing on that information. This is the third year that I have had to travel from Paddington on December 27th and the service has got progressively worse. Sh*sters! I have never once used a train from Paddington where there hasnt been a problem with leaving on time and/or overcrowding on the train. Hate this station and the appalling (lack of) service with a vengeance. RANT OVER.
