Thank you, JENNY MELLO, for the beautiful bird house you gave me 4 years ago. I put it on the porch of the chicken house, just for decoration (not thinking that any birds would be interested in using it so close to human activity). Well, we got a pair of swallows that very first year and the same pair return each spring to raise their young (this is their 4th time). I always thought they were tree swallows (we get Cliff Swallows, Barn Swallows, Tree Swallows and the beautiful Violet-green Swallows here in Oregon; they all migrate to central and south America in September). Today I was able to get closer pictures of the parents and I was mistaken: they are the Violet-green Swallows!
