Thank you, Nonnie. The uncomfortable truth is this. Nobody would disagree with Debs. Except when it comes time to celebrate Veterans Day and Memorial Day. Or when it comes time to sign up for war. Then we all become complicit in these master mandated wars, as complicit as any veteran who has murdered in a foreign war in order to keep alive. Some pretty sick sh*t, these complicities. See, to me, courage amounts to saying, standing for publically what you believe, knowing the statement will consign you to prison, which it did in Debs case and for 10 years. As for honor, that is not found on a battle field. That is found at home, by mother and father, making ends meet to raise a child.
