Thank you Pam Black Burnham for posting this earlier: Laurie Schatzel Edwards asked me to share this with only her FB family and friends. As you all know, Lauries daughter, Brooke, passed away last Friday. As if this isnt unbearable enough for anyone to endure, her actual cause of death was undetermined. The GBI lead the investigation and the family has been in agony waiting to finally hear the results. Unfortunately, during this time, people took it upon themselves to speculate that she committed suicide and then spread this around to countless people. I am sure you can imagine how horrific this has been for Laurie and her family. It is just beyond cruel and so disrespectful, not only to Brooke, but to her family and all that loved her. There are just no words to describe the disgust I feel that anyone could be so heartless and irresponsible, especially during such a painful time. A student at Georgia Southern wrote this article in regards to Brookes passing. Needless to say, it meant a great deal to Laurie and she asked me to share it as well. It pretty much says it all. The family has recently received the report as to Brookes official cause of death. She asked that I share the results with you. With 100% certainty, Brookes passing was caused from organ failure due to a reaction to a prescription medication that her doctor placed her on this year. This beautiful, loving, wonderful young lady was the victim of an incredibly tragic accident that had been coming on for weeks. I ask that you all respect how much this family has been through. They are overwhelmed, exhausted, and trying to absorb all of this. PLEASE do not ask Laurie any questions regarding the cause of Brookes death, either before or during her daughters funeral. She is so heartbroken, as I am sure you can all imagine, and there is nothing else to tell. She so appreciates all of your love, support, and prayers!!! I hope you will keep helping her through this!! It has meant more to her than you will ever know!!!
