Thank you SO MUCH, Brian and Channel 3! We are full, and our residents are working jobs ~ only a fraction of which are through our day labor program. They are getting their lives together because they can stay long enough to gain steady employment. Approximately 70% are going to work each day, approximately 19% are disabled, and the remaining 11% are new intakes looking for a job or hospital discharges who are not well enough to begin working yet. We are both a day and a night shelter, so our disabled and not-yet-employed residents do not have to leave the property and wander the streets during the day. This truly is their home until they can get on their feet and find and afford an apartment. They are no longer transient. Thanks again, Channel 3!
