Thank you SO VERY MUCH for the e-Cards!!! What a splendid way to brighten Kalis room with these lovely cards and encouraging words. Kali had a new pic line installed in the same spot as the old this morning. Her pain level is about the same as the last few days. ANC dropped down to 200, lower then what it was when admitted. We didnt want to hear that knowing her body heals best with healthy blood counts! Shes been running a low grade fever today of 100 something when vitals are done. I am just thankful that Kali is resting well at night plus gets several naps in during the day. Its a great escape from the misery. I like to think of it as healing sleep. With the challenges shes having now, we dont take a day at a time, its more like hour by hour, and sometimes minute by minute. For clarification I want to say, Kali is not here because Leukemia has returned, she has been in remission since early April. For this we are most grateful! The high dose Methotrexate she had last week is a standard part of protocol for high risk B-ALL teens. The Mucositis and other challenges shes having now are common side effects of high dose MTX treatment. As always, we hope to come through treatment without side effects, but alas, it catches up with her sometimes!
