Thank you everyone for the continued prayers, love and support. We feel it all! Desi is still at Loma Linda but she is doing AMAZING! Over the past few days, Ive seen my sweet girl come to life. Her personality Ive missed so much, her vivacity, her sparkle, her beautiful smile and loving heart. We have not seen her like this for nearly TWO months as shes been sick and/or recovering from surgery and chemo rounds. Her body is just now bouncing back to her old playful self and it is such a sight. It really makes this time stuck in isolation, go by effortlessly. I want to share several photos from the past several days. Some are of her on our way to the hospital and during the first couple days here, some of her big brother & sissy at Dave & Busters spending some MUCH needed QT with their momma, some of her with her Auntie Ashley playing with some new toys, some of her cute little nails that I attempted for the first time ever of doing a pattern on (she loves representing her gold awareness ribbon and I am SO PROUD of her for that!!!), some of her with gifts from Melissa Neiderman (American Cancer Society) and her friend from Ooh La La boutique in Palm Springs, some of her with a gift from the Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California, some of her costume and Halloween goodies & gifts from Spirit of Children during their wonderful donation and visit to Loma Linda Childrens Hospital and some of her awesome silly self! We have an amazing hospital that do some truly incredible things for their kiddos and work with some amazing foundations who are constantly putting smiles on our kiddos faces. A HUGE THANK YOU to ALL who have a hand in continuously giving to our brave little fighters. I also would like to take a minute to thank each one of you who ever share a post or a photo of Desi. By your sharing, you are spreading awareness, MUCH needed awareness for Childhood Cancer, you are sharing the dead to rights TRUTH of what childhood cancer IS and DOES to families. In turn, awareness will bring attention to the desperately lacking funding that Childhood Cancer research gets and it is the true hope that with funding, our amazing and courageous warriors will have a cure and a chance at LIFE! I am so proud, so very, VERY proud of Desirae. We tell her every single day how much of an impact she has been and continues to make on people all over this WORLD. People that are ten times her age look up to her. They pray daily, love hard and support deeply for her. She has become an inspiration to so many. In her 5 years of life, she has become a mini icon and when people hear her name, they hear ALL about Childhood Cancer and that is HER legacy. Bringing awareness to this disease that has rocked her world and her families world. It is a TRUE gift that she has been recognized by so many people, organizations and foundations for the battle that she fights each day. Our congressman has awarded her for bringing awareness to Childhood Cancer, and a few months back, while Desi was having treatment, our family was invited to be a part of a commercial for the Ronald McDonald House to tell our story and how much the RMH has made such a difference in being able to be close to her hospital for treatment while giving him a place to sleep, shower and eat, while Desi & I are in the hospital, and Desi being asked to be a part of next years calendar for a very well known foundation that we cant yet let the cat out of the bag, but are VERY excited to see the unveiling soon, and the American Cancer Society recognizing the lack of funding towards Childhood Cancer and has unveiled their theme for the 2015 annual gala directly towards Childhood Cancer and is recognizing Desirae and highlighting our families battle and the Debbie Chisholm Memorial Foundation has made Desirae their Face of an Angel and literally her face is an award. She is doing amazing, life changing things today, but the most important fight, is her own personal battle that she wages each day and I could not be more proud or more honored to be her Momma.
