Thank you everyone for the love and kindness you have shown through your financial support of our BRSSD families who were impacted by the rains. We have now closed the gofundme donation page so that we can start organizing ourselves tomorrow for distribution. All together, between donations made to the paypal account, walk-in donations to schools and the gofundme account, we have raised a grand and amazingly touching total of $31,318. The first $25,000 will be distributed directly to our initial 11 BRSSD families and allocated to them according to the size of their families. The remaining money will be shared out to other mobile park residents until we run out with a priority given to the elderly and families with pre-K children. We plan on distributing every single cent raised via gift cards tomorrow (Friday) at the mobile home park sometime in the early evening. We are certain that there will be many tears of joy that will be shed. Many heartfelt thanks to Wells Fargo Bank (Amir Ghassemzadeh and Sylvia Rice) for their help in working out the finances as well as waiving VISA fees and to the Foster City Safeway (TJ Fonseca) for the discounts on the gift Safeway gift cards. Between these two organizations, hundreds of dollars were saved in fees. Most importantly of all, a standing ovation must be given to Linda Fonseca, administrative assistant at Nesbit, who kept the donations straight throughout these past three days, counted thousands of dollars multiple times, answered a never ending stream of phone calls and questions, and who kept us steadily on a forward moving path. Without her guidance, this fundraiser would not have worked. Belmont-Redwood Shores -- tonight we can all sleep well knowing that we live in a community that will nobly rise, without hesitation, when called upon to support one another. Can you imagine anything finer than knowing that you live in such a community? Utterly and completely beautiful. With deep gratitude, Robin K.
