Thank you everyone for the support we received today! Im pretty sure, when we looked over to your side, WWCC had more fans than SLCC on their home field. It was an awesome atmosphere. To those that couldnt make it, we lost 2-1 against SLCC. I felt that during the first half, both teams had equal opportunities. The main difference was that their opportunities finished with shots and ours didnt. Score was 2-0 at half. Second half, we came out and I truly feel that we dominated this half. They were constantly on their heals. Shelby Stevens took her only two shots of the year and scored one of them. That just fired up the girls as the bubble in front of goal was finally popped. It seemed like we constantly had it on their half, and Heather Darrin about evened the game up as she put the ball between the keepers legs. Unfortunately though, a SLCC defender sprinted back and cleared it off the line. We had several more good chances as three different girls barely missed over the crossbar. Overall, it was a great final game for us. We want to say thank you to all the sophomores that stuck it out for two years. They helped turn this program in the right direction. Another thank you goes to all our newcomers. Without them we literally wouldnt of had a team. Our biggest thanks, however, goes to you fans that have followed and supported us all year. Sorry we didnt make it farther, but you guys helped us get through very difficult times. Thanks!!!
