Thank you for a wonderful conference. The breadth and depth of the topics were wonderful, the speakers were amazing and Toronto was quite hospitable. For those who came and participated, I am sure you will concur. It was indeed an awesome experience. For those who could not make it, we look forward to your presence in Hawaii next year. Please save the dates August 2 to 6, 2014 and plan on being there. Hawaii is generally the most attended NMA conference location; therefore, start planning early. During the Business meeting, several issues were discussed and elections were conducted. I am happy to announce the Executive Committee for the 2013-2014 year. These stalwart members are: President: Ugo A. Ezenkwele, MD, MPH President-Elect: Trevonne Thompson, MD Treasurer: Heather Prendergast, MD Secretary: Tyson Pillow, MD Scientific Advisor: Michelle Wan, MD Historian: Adrienne Wilson, MD Social Media Intern: Natasha Ramsaran Furthermore, a history council was formed. The Section is now twenty-five years old and a lot has been accomplished. Historical renderings of chapter proceedings are needed and will be presented at the conference next year. Members of this council will comprise Section past presidents, Section founders (Drs. George Benjamin and Neil Winston) and will be led by the newly appointed historian. A Bylaws Committee was also formed. This Committee will be led by Dr. Steven Bowman and will comprise of the past presidents, members of the Executive Committee and Dr. Pamela Ross. The Program Committee is being led by Dr. Trevonne Thompson. In addition, a Strategic Plan and Development Committee was formed. Dr. Heather Prendergast has offered to take the lead. This new Committee will assist the Section Administrator in seeking grant sources and developing a strategic plan for the Section. As a member of the Section, your active participation is needed. Please, take the time to join any of the Committees.
