Thank you for adding me to your group. My husband spent the day of 9/19/14 raking our yard of all of our pine needles while I was out running errands with my sister. He finished up and sat with a cold drink on our front porch to cool off before getting in the shower. My 14 year old son came back around to the front of the house after putting away the tools and found him collapsed in the porch. He called me, then 911 and with the operators assistance, started CPR. I arrived home from picking up my 13 year old twins from a school dance as the paramedics arrived. They worked on him for over 45 minutes on our porch and all the way to the hospital but he was already gone. So now Im a widowed mom to 3 teenagers. Since my husband died unexpectedly, an autopsy was done. Over a month later, I am still waiting for the state of NC to issue his death certificate. I have been unable to file for social security benefits for my children, unable to file his life insurance. Bills keep coming. A bill for the ambulance. A bill for the ER. Its so overwhelming. And every night my children cry and tell me they just want daddy. And my heart breaks even more.
