Thank you for attending our walk this past Monday at Lansdowne Middle School. We appreciated your support of this event. We are issuing the following statement in response to negative remarks we have read today on the Internet and heard today on the radio regarding the agreement between the BCTF and the Provincial government. We are concerned with the objections against the initialed agreement, which was reached between the BCTF and the government on Monday morning. We feel that this deal was negotiated by representatives of the BC Teachers’ Union and that if teachers were overwhelmingly willing to accept binding arbitration then they should be willing to accept a deal negotiated on their behalf. At the end of the day, our students need to be in school learning and the continuation of the strike is affecting students belief in the importance of education, parents’ belief in the process and teachers’ morale. Enough damage has been done, let’s work towards a resolution
